Bodhi gave Lukas an incredulous look over his shoulder. In a tight spot he made bombs from chemicals? They were going to have to talk about what kind of mentor this was at some point.

"Couple of mi beretna be here soon," Bohdi grunted. Testing his weight on the leg first, he made his way to the door.

Taking a risk he fired some shots down the corridor towards the muzzle flashes. The other one had to be close still, but Bohdi saw no sign of him.

"Gonna take long to make de amm... De bombs?"

It was a crude thing but he was already working on it. The bulb was comprised of recycled and processed plant resins, giving way to a malleable plastic sphere - made intentionally in this format to contain rhizomes but allow root protrusion upon growth. Between the two halves was an even mixture of certain products.

"Fertilizer, high organics, mixed with a bit of fuel used for the recycling generator. A couple of bullets and random screws and a piece of cloth." He ripped at the length of the shirt above the armor, feeding it through the bulb with a rod. Shaking it around, he shrugged. "Not too long. Your friends are getting here soon...but not too soon, right?"

He'd hate to hit them with this thing, the ash and smoke alone would make for a good cloud - if it worked. Pulling out a disposable lighter commonly used for the rare cigarette, he lit the rag and it took to flames with no ignition. But he had only moments before the reaction catalyzed so taking a couple steps beyond Bodhi, he stuck his head out of the door just long enough to fling it sky high. Tucking back in and resting against the wall, he shuttered as it ignited and rained metal down against them and hopefully those shooting at them.

"Huh...it worked." Not that it had deterred the enemy, just that it had ignited. Been a long time since he made one of those.

An eyebrow quirked upwards as Bohdi appreciated the handiwork. They had some sappers in the faction who had done a number on some of the Martian marines by collapsing tunnels. He vowed to ask them what toys they could put together for him.

Expecting the explosion meant he reacted more quickly than those after them. Despite the pain he darted out of the corridor.

Screams drew him to the first man. The closest gunman had been pushing towards them with the hot shrapnel rained down. Bohdi wasn't feeling in a forgiving mood. Two rounds at almost point blank ended the screams.

Scrambling up the side of a container he managed to finally get a line on the sharpshooter. Rounds pinged off metal as he opened fire. Through the smoke he followed the silhouette.

"They're running, out left!" Bohdi called. The shooter dropped out of his site, but Bohdi kept scanning in case there were even more out here.

To be honest, he wasn't expected Bodhi to move out with that speed given his injury. Not everyone was like Luka, which meant Bodhi was just biting through the pain. Whether that was because of anger or desperation, it was hard to tell. And even harder to care. Results were results and Luka kept that in mind as the belta put the wounded man down with two unforgiving shots to the brain pan.

"Yeah..." He said in agreement as he snapped open the pistol, dropping the spent rounds to refill. Once that was done, he put the pistol back in the small of his back and aimed down his main towards the direction they were running. He needed to keep an eye on his status. Given the shot to the armor, he needed to watch his own breathing to make sure there wasn't any lung damage or bruising.

"Keep their attention, eh?" He smirked as he ran down the walkways that separated various containers on floor level, rounding the corner just as a shot dinged off the metal wall. Another gunmen on the ground, their count for three was low balling. Luka fired off two rounds and watched as they hit, sending the man to the ground. Out of sight of Bodhi, he ran towards the writhing man and kicked his gun away. With another shot to the stomach, Luka looked up.

"Stay." He whispered as he ran back around and looked towards the rafters. The shadow was moving but he wondered if they could be lured out with the now impressively loud wails of a fallen comrade.

The sharpshooter was still out there. Whilst Bodhi had flushed him out of his original position he hadn't crossed back into Lukas' path.

Staying still and waiting for a target was worse than the mad charge down the corridor. He was aware of the acrid taste from the explosive coating the roof of his mouth. Most of all he was biting down on his back teeth against the pain in his calf.

    "Where are..."

Three pings in quick succession as rounds struck the container just inches from his head. In a panic he rolled and dropped off the edge of the container. His rifle clattered next to him.

    "Fuck. He still up dere!"

For all his hopes of caterwauling from the dying man, it wasn't exactly coming to fruition. Based on the groans, he must have been nearly biting through his tongue to stifle the wail.

Luka clicked his tongue as he pressed his back against the wall. "Too bad." No one liked being used, being made into bait. Even more so for the universes most exploited culture: Beltalowda. Based on the neck tattoos and clavicle burns of the victim, Luka had him pegged as a rock hopper. And the detective thought he might have recognized them as well.

"Yeah!" Luka responded around the corner as he heard the thump, Bodhi rolling off the top and stating the obvious. With a check of his rounds, Luka lifted his cannon and fired off three rounds. The plastic slugs smacked loudly against the railing and the detective spotted the man, just in time to see him lose his grip and footing. From that distance, he was just a shadow.

    But one that was falling.

"I think I got 'em..." He yelled as he moved forward, man plummeting from above as he flailed his arms vigorously.

Weight wasn't the same here as it was on earth. Inertia, however, was exactly the same. The sharpshooter hit the deck with enough of it to break an arm.

It took all of Bodhi's concentration to get back to his feet. His foot was going numb, a sharp contrast to the hot pain just a few inches up his leg. He could feel the damp warmth spreading. But this was the belt. You pressed on or you were left behind.

Bodhi managed to break into an awkward jog, picking cover along the way. He found the shooter trying to shuffle away along the warehouse floor. Bodhi fired a warning shot.

    "Hands!"

The man raised one arm, but the other stayed limp at his side. He was a belter too, but looked more like a genuine killer for hire.

    "Mi said hands!"

Between all the gun shots and the bomb making and still seeing that woman's dead body as she laid atop broken shards of a terminal, Luka had lost track of their objective. And that wasn't changing for the time being.

They had been attacked. There were entities at work, trying to stop them from sorting out where the armor had gone and for what it had been used. And this poor belta embodied the entirety of that effort.

As the downed man raised both his hands, Luka leveled his pistol in the general direction and approached with an exacting gait. Kicking the rifle away, it bounced against a few metal containers before resting almost out of sight.

"Up..." The barrel of Lukas gone nodded upwards repeatedly. The man moved to reach down, likely to help himself up. "No." The hammer drew back and it was obvious the belta was in pain. "You get up. And you keep your hands up while you're at it."

Luka didn't take his eyes off the man, but he spoke loudly to indicate his attention was shifting to Bodhi. "You alright?"

"Eh," went Bodhi, resisting the urge to make a hand signal for so-so and end up with a hand of his rifle. Adrenaline was coursing through his veins, the sound of his heart pounding through his skull. He was angry and frightened confused all at once. His life seemed to be a string of shitty scenarios strung together by the mundane belter life.

"Yuh keep cuffs on yuh? Dis felota coming wid mi." His voice was a low growl. As the rush started to pass he began to realise just how much of a shit show this all was. He'd revealed a weapons cache to Star Helix, lost one of their better operatives. This was supposed to have been a simple job to earn a little reputation with them. Shouldn't have gotten involved with their internal politics.

"Hmm." He held his hands down as he shrugged, still pointing his gun at the man. "Cuffs jingle and make noise." And they were an extra weight on the belt line that he'd prefer to avoid. There was a far more preferred route for detaining prisoners. Easier to put on, easier to take off.

The man was making his way up and once he reached his feet, Luke flipped the pistol to hold it by the barrel. And hit the belter in the stomach with the handle. As the man crouched over from the blow, likely considering whether vomiting was a good call, Luka was behind him and yanking his hands back.

A zip noise was made as the man yelped, his hands clasped together behind his back. "Oya! Fucking watch it, pomang! It's broken!"

Luka's eyes perked as he looked towards Bodhi. The man was belter but his accent sounded forced, like he was educated from a young age but trying to hide it. "Got a mouth on this one..." Luka replied as he kicked the man forward. "Ya, you can have him. Least I could do..."

"Mi tinking your friends who don't want dis case worked really don't want it worked," Bodhi summised. It was that or they had a leak back within the faction, but that was both unlikely and not worth mentioning around Lukas.

He gave the helix detective a long look. There was a newfound respect there.

Bodhi turned sharply towards a door and started to raise his rifle. Half way up and he let it drop and signalled for Lukas that it was friendly. "Dey wid me!" Xin added quickly, unsure if the man would know belter hand signals in that detail. Several belters entered the area tentatively, sidearms not hidden all that well.

"You watch your back yeah? Maybe we watch it too."

"Yeah." He rubbed a hand over his mouth as he looked around, watching as the belter half raised a rifle and dropped it. Indicating friends. Just in time to miss the party. "With friends like these..." He trailed off as he dragged the wounded man forward, clutching his arm so hard that he could feel the bones crunch together. The man wailed and nearly crumbled to his knees.

Luka handed the man off to one of the newly arriving. Sticking his hands into his pocket, he looked up towards the metal rafters. "Who needs enemies? That's the saying right?" Seems he was gathering quite an array of people who wanted him dead. Strolling past the cadre, he nodded. "Sorry about tu sésata..." With a wave, Luka was about finished with the day.

"We should do this again sometime. Maybe less bullets, less death. Get that leg checked, yeah?" Luka smiled as he found the nearest door. They were through with this adventure, but the day had seen enough and he needed to sort out his friends. And he needed to decided whether any of this was actually worth the trouble.
